Key Flies: Clousers, seducers, spoon flies, and poppers

Flats News:

Offshore flow and seas will gradually weaken through Wednesday as Arctic high pressure begins to slowly weaken. The high pressure area will begin to shift east late Wednesday and a moderate onshore flow will develop on Thursday and persist through Saturday.

Fishing Report:

A major cold front came through this week. Temperatures dipped into the high thirties for the second time in two weeks. This sharp temperature drop sends the trout and reds off the flats and into deeper water. The ICW channel is one of the best places to start the search for fish. As the day heats up the reds will move from the deeper water back up onto the flats to forage. Another good option is to target flats that have a bottom of dark mud. The mud holds heat better than the white sands. The North side of Farewell Island has this type of dark mud and is relatively deep, hint hint. The Ducks are down on the coast in great numbers. Safe Holidays and Tight Lines.
